The DOW FILMTEC SW30-4040 reverse osmosis membrane boasts one of the highest flow rates, catering to the water needs of both sea-based and land-based watermakers. It can operate at lower pressures, reducing pump size, operational costs, and overall expenses. These membranes are frequently used in on-board watermakers to produce drinking water from brackish or ocean water for boats, yachts, and cruise ships. For detailed specifications, download the data sheet: FilmTec_SW30_product_datasheet_pdf. The SW30-4040 model features a flow rate of 1,900 gpd (7.4 m/d), an applied pressure of 800 psig (55 bar), and a stabilized salt rejection rate of 99.4%. It has a hard shell fiberglass exterior, an active membrane surface area of 80 sq. ft., and a polyamide thin-film composite membrane type. The permeate flow and salt rejection are based on a 32,000 ppm NaCl feed stream at 77°F, 8% recovery, and 800 psig. The operating limits include a maximum operating temperature of 113°F (45°C), a maximum operating pressure of 1,000 psig (69 bar), and a maximum pressure drop of 15 psig (1 bar). It can handle a maximum feed flow rate of 6 gpm (1.4m/h) and has a pH range of 2-11 for continuous operation, with a short-term cleaning pH range of 1-13. It has a maximum feed silt density index of SDI 5 and a free chlorine tolerance. Please note that the maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F, and oxidation damage is not covered under warranty. For further assistance, visit our FAQ page or contact us.
