Roper Whitney's Connecticut hand brakes are engineered for longevity and precise bending. Robust steel plate construction, along with heavy truss rods and braces, ensure strength and durability. Featuring thicker steel side plates than other domestic units, these brakes offer the rigidity needed for upper beam adjustment without tools. Equipped with thrust bearings, the upper leaf adjustment screws allow swift, accurate alignment for varied material thicknesses or radii. Additional adjustment features include leveling screws and lock nuts on the pedestals, jack screws and tensioner bolts on the apron, truss rods on the apron, base, and upper beam, and replaceable nose bar and apron inserts. A removable apron angle and insert enable 1/4-inch reverse bends in lighter material. Precision-aligned pivot points are fitted with oil-impregnated bearings, and hinge pins are made of high-tensile, alloy steel. Ductile steel clamp handles, heavy yokes, grease fittings, and an apron stop rod complement the numerous other high-quality features of these heavy-duty brakes.
